Based on an internationally recognised curriculum, every child reads through this comic with their Alongsider — learning their rights, what safe and unsafe touch looks like, and exactly who to turn to for help.

A community's response.
Nine-year-old Martha was being sexually abused by her uncle. She had no Alongsider. What happened next shows exactly how this movement is designed to work.
A confidence shared
Martha confided in her best friend Rejoice — not knowing what to do or where to turn. She didn't have an Alongsider of her own.
Training in action
Rejoice, an Alongsiders "Little Sister", immediately knew what needed to happen. "That's not allowed in Alongsiders! You have to tell an Alongsider — let's tell mine."
Protocol followed
Rejoice's Alongsider listened, believed them, and followed the reporting protocol that she learned through the Alongsiders Child Safeguarding training.
Justice and healing
The uncle was followed up and arrested. Martha is now safe at home — and even has her own Alongsider walking with her toward healing.
Martha wasn't in the Alongsiders movement. But because her best friend, Rejoice, was, she was protected. This is what it means to build a movement — the training ripples out far beyond those we directly reach.
